The PEX10 PCI Express Expansion Module

The PEX10 PCI Express expansion module routes one x16 PCI Express mechanical interface comprised of four x4 PCIe Gen3 or Gen2 electrical links directly from the second processor (CPU1) on a dual-processor single board computer such as the Trenton BXT7059 or JXT6966 down to the expansion connector on a backplane such as the Trenton BPG8150, BPX8093, or BPC7041.

Key features of the PEX10 PCI Express expansion module include:

  • Optional plug-in module expands PCIe 3.0 and 2.0 bandwidth
  • Extends PICMG 1.3 interfaces with additional PCI Express links
  • Provides one x16 PCI Express Gen3 or Gen2 interface which may bifurcate into four additional x4 backplane links
  • Backplane may combine all four links to provide a x16 PCIe 3.0 / PCIe 2.0 interface
  • Supports dual-processor SBCs such as the BXT7059 and JXT6966
  • Controlled impedance connector supports secure PCIe link routing between the SBC and PEX10 enabled backplane

VERSION

There are two PEX10 versions currently available:

PEX10    -004 This version of the PEX10 board includes the necessary mounting hardware and standoffs necessary to mount the board to a dual-processor, PICMG 1.3 single board computer such as the Trenton BXT7059 or JXT6966 equipped with the SHB stiffener bars only.
